Winking and Cleaning and Water
I know I am completely biased, but I swear this kid learns so fast. He sees us do something maybe once and he's got it. He is a great little mimicker. He is now a winker and a mopper. He has also learned how to say and sign "water" and this is all new in the last two weeks. Every day I look at him and he is looking and behaving more like a little boy and not a baby.
First Hair Cut
Now I want to go ahead and apologize ahead of time for this video. I was by myself with him trying to get this done... it had been too long, and so holding him and videoing at the same time was rather difficult. I think you will get the message though.
He hated it, and she was not the best baby bang trimmer. At least his hair isn't all in his eyes anymore. It was quick and a lot better than going to get shots at the Dr. We only trimmed his bangs. I just can't even think about cutting off those curls. They are so cute, and I am afraid they won't grow back.

Swaptree and Freecycle... Aunt Edna would be proud!
Well, I had to get on here an blog about this great site I heard about on TV. www.swaptree.com
Basically the site is a tool you can use to trade DVD's, CD's or Books you don't need to want for other DVD's, CD's or Books that you do want. It is totally free and easy. If you want to can add your credit card to your account and you can even print shipping labels at home and just drop your items in your home mail slot.
I thought for a minute that the only stuff on there would be dumb stuff that no one ever wants, but I am in the process right now of doing three trades. I am getting Angels and Demons for Erik, a Veggie Tales Movie for Erik J, and an Anne Rice book for me. I will let you know how they turn out.
I have a great feeling about it though because much like ebay you rate each other so you can avoid problems. If you don't complete your trades they kick you out.. so it's pretty safe. I figure even if one of them doesn't work out I am only losing a dvd that I never watched anyway.
If you like this site, you should also check out FreeCycle.org too. www.freecycle.org
On FreeCycle, you just post anything you don't want anymore and people in your local town come a pick them up from you. I mean anything too. People even post broken stuff and they still find people who want it. You can also post things you need too. For example one time I posted that I needed a new USB cord for my Ipod, which I am sure would have cost me like $20, but I posted on Freecycle that I was needing one and had one from a fellow FreeCycler the next day. Erik and I arranged via email to meet the guy at Vons on his way home from work and Bam there you go! That is how we got our hiking backpack for Erik J, and that is how we clean out our house to get the baby's room ready.
I figure in the crunch we are all in right now it is a great idea to find as many simple ways to get what you want without spending any money. An added bonus too is that you are even somewhat recycling rather than throwing stuff away and filling up landfills. With as much as they are talking about these sites on morning shows etc I figure the more popular they get the better they will work. So check them out and Happy Swapping!
